Jamaican Rum Bottled By: Glenallachie Distillers Ltd 70cl / 46%
A fascinating MacNair's Exploration Peated Jamaican Rum from MacNair's Boutique Spirits, the non-whisky side of Billy Walker's operations at Glenallachie. MacNair's Exploration Peated Jamaican rum was sourced from the Clarendon distillery in Jamaica and is bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration.
This MacNair's Exploration peated rum is a mix of low, medium and high ester rums initially filled to American and French oak casks at 86%. These rums were left to mature for 30 months and were then blended by Billy Walker and reduced to 69% before being reracked to finish their maturation in casks that formerly held peated Glenallachie.
A remarkable marriage of Caribbean, American, European and Scottish aromas and flavours.

Yes, a lovely expression from Ardnmurchan. As young as it is (5yrs old I believe), it tastes twice its maturity!
Very well made, delicious & beautifully complex smells & flavours to savour.
Having been fortunate enough to visit Scotland’s little gem distillery twice in the past ( amongst several others) it soon became my favourite dram. This like all its predecessors is a pleasure to savour and a real treat . The only problem is the self discipline required to make the bottle last long enough and show the respect and gratitude to its makers in producing this and in my humble opinion all others from Scotland’s little gem.
