A small batch Linkwood 2013 10-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2024 by Signatory Vintage as edition #19 in their magnificent 100-Proof Editions series, which have rapidly become absolutely essential for fans of high quality, good value whiskies ever since the first bottlings appeared in December 2023.
This 10-year-old small batch Linkwood 2013 was assembled by Signatory from a small batch of second fill Oloroso sherry butts that have given the whisky a lovely natural deep colour, and like the rest of the 100-Proof range it’s been bottled at a feisty 57.1% without colouring or chill filtration. Linkwood’s spirit is ideally suited to sherry casks and Signatory’s cask selection is second to none, so this looks like yet another no-brainer from Pitlochry’s finest.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
