This tantalisingly dark 30-year-old Linkwood 1990 came from a first fill sherry butt that yielded just 348 bottles at its natural cask strength of 48.6%. Linkwood thrives over long maturation in both sherry and bourbon casks - this teak-dark sherried dram will be a stunner.

Nose: Beeswax polish aromas give way to dark cherry and treacle toffee. Palate: Flavours of toasted walnuts combine with orange peel and cinnamon spice. Finish: Medium bodied with lingering notes of cloves.

I bought this as a present then did the tour with my brother at Lindores Abbey distillery in Newburgh Fife.The bottle i bought from Whisky-online was cheaper than at Lindores ,very happy again and a very quick delivery.
A fantastic line up of drams from Alistair's range, all presented at full cask strength. Alistair gave a very informative narrative of the independent bottling industry, with many anecdotes and experiences shared.
