Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Signatory Vintage 70cl / 59.5%
Signatory can be relied upon to ferret out great casks from good distilleries that make single malt too important for blends for their owners to market properly as single malts in their own right.
This Inchgower 1997 looks like a good case in point. Most of the distillery's output is needed for Bell's blended whisky but it's a very fine single malt in its own right. Signatory have bottled this one at 23 years old, with most of the last three years finishing in a sherry cask.
Bottled at its impressive full natural strength of 59.5% with 690 bottles outturn, so this was probably originally two bourbon hogsheads re-racked into the sherry cask for the final maturation period.
