Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 55.7%
These 1978 Highland Parks are wonderful examples of that rare thing, an Island malt that actually has great aging potential. HP can age for decades and at this kind of age is often stunningly fresh, rich, oily and concentrated with all kinds of peat, medicine, smoke, coastal notes, fruits and oily wax qualities. A great example of Island whisky making.
If this is from the same parcel of stock as the last 1978 Highland Park that Douglas Laing released in this range then we're in for a great treat with this one. Expect a no holds barred look at the distillate in full force. Sherry, peat, sea air, wax, heather and resin. This should be spectacular.
