This Infrequent Flyers 2007 vintage Fettercairn 14-year-old was bottled without colouring or chill filtration after a finishing period in an Oloroso Sherry puncheon that yielded a generous 622 bottles at its natural cask strength of 55.2%. Whisper it, but Fettercairn seems to be having a moment right now and we wouldn't be surprised if this one sells pretty fast.

Colour: Mahogany.
Nose: Super sweet - muscovado sugar, heavily stewed fruits and salted caramel.
Palate: Rich and full flavoured. Cinnabons and maple syrup. Well-integrated flavours of cocoa, mocha, sultanas and figs. A well-sherried dram indeed!

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
