Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
An old bottle of Craigellachie 23-year-old Batch 67-KA23, which first appeared in 2014 as part of the grand relaunch of the distillery during Dewar's Last Great Malts campaign, which also spotlighted its sister distilleries Aberfeldy, Royal Brackla, Aultmore and Macduff (bottled as Deveron).
Confusingly, Craigellachie 23-year-old retained the 'Batch 67-KA23' on the label of Craigellachie 23-year-old for several years, but the laser-printed bottling code on this bottle strongly suggests that it dates from 2016. These early editions were bottled at 46% after maturing in American oak casks; a subsequent revamp of the 23-year-old in 2023 saw a switch to first fill bourbon and sherry casks for the assemblage and a change in batch numbers.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
