This 14-year-old Caol Ila 2007 Cask 307363 was a refill hogshead bottled in 2022 without colouring or chill filtration at its natural full cask strength of 56.8%. It's exciting to see these Noughties vintages of Caol Ila finally reaching a respectable middle age, as the quality of the younger versions we've tried was so high. This will be a fabulous dram for Caol Ila lovers.

Nose: An Islay steam room! Menthol and eucalyptus mingle with sweet cigar smoke.
Palate: Sweet peat and phenols. Grated ginger and almond praline, with a touch of cracked black pepper.

I’m not a great fan of Peated Whisky but this one is superb, gently Peated Sherry Hogshead doesn’t get better than this very smooth Whisky, a very pleasant surprise.
