It's exciting to see these Noughties vintages of Caol Ila finally reaching a respectable middle age, as the quality of the younger versions we've tried was so high. This will be a fabulous dram for Caol Ila lovers.

Nose: An Islay steam room! Menthol and eucalyptus mingle with sweet cigar smoke.
Palate: Sweet peat and phenols. Grated ginger and almond praline, with a touch of cracked black pepper.
