Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Sipping Shed 70cl / 60.1%
When a fresh young cask strength Caol Ila arrives here at Whisky-Online, it's always a happy day - so we were delighted to pick up a small parcel of this 10-year-old Caol Ila from indie bottlers The Sipping Shed.
This non-vintage Caol Ila 10-year-old has been bottled from a single bourbon hogshead at its natural cask strength of 60.1% and we'd bet the farm that, like all the young indie Caol Ilas we've tried in the last few years, it'll be an absolute belter.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Plenty of peat smoke and ozonic sea air leave you in no doubt as to where this whisky was raised. There’s honeysuckle too, with citrus aromas providing balance alongside a hint of apple skin.
Palate: Imagine a beach barbecue on the isle of Islay… smouldering smoky coals mingle with gentle floral notes and heather blowing on the sea soaked breeze…. mmmm. That. But as whisky. Classic Islay. Classic Caol Ila. Smoky, peaty and multilayered.
Finish: Long with fading wood embers providing the final wisp of smoke.
