Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Duncan Taylor 70cl / 52.9%
Ardmore is another distillery that's spent a lot of its life kicking out peated Speyside single malt whisky for Teacher's and other blended whiskies, but now is getting a bit more love and marketing attention from its owners with an official bottling or two.
Thankfully there's still just about enough left over for independent bottlings of Ardmore, which are generally very good. We've high hopes for this one, certainly - a 10-year-old Ardmore 2010 from Duncan Taylor that spent its last eight months in one of their re-coopered mini sherry casks - the Octaves. This particular Octave, no. 1926678, turned out 96 bottles at a cask strength of 52.9%.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
