Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 45.6% / 91.2 proof

Michter's Shenk's Homestead is a special edition small batch Kentucky sour mash whiskey released annually since 2018. This is the 2025 edition of Shenk’s Homestead, a small batch whiskey bottled at a lipsmacking 91.2 US proof, equivalent to 45.6%.

Shenk’s whiskey cannot be called bourbon because it is finished in uncharred French oak barrels at the end of its maturation. Shenk’s has a high proportion of rye in the mashbill, giving delicious herbal, spicy, menthol notes to the whiskey. This 2025 Shenk’s whiskey came from Batch L25E1903 and was one of just 2429 bottles.

Shenk's Homestead is named for the original Shenk Brothers, who set up the distillery that would eventually become known as Michter's in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania in 1753. The distillery was later renamed Bomberger's in the 19th century before becoming Michter's at some point after WWII. Michter's distillery was closed in 1989 but has since become a heritage site, while today the Michter's brand has a new distillery in Kentucky.
