From Spirit of Yorkshire distillery comes Batch #1 Filey Bay IPA Finish English single malt whisky, released in 2021.
As the name implies, this Filey Bay English whisky has been finished in casks that previously held Imperial Pale Ale (IPA) beer. Spirit of Yorkshire is a 'field to bottle' distillery, with all their whisky made from 100% homegrown local barley, and for Filey Bay IPA Finish they've taken this a step further, with the IPA in question coming from their sister brewery Wold Top.

Light, fruity and biscuity with notes of green apple, pear drops, lemon cake and hops.
This is really amazing! Michael Jacksons Whisky Companion 8th Ed (2022) scored it a 93 - hardly any of the Scottish Malts get above 90 so definitely one of the greats!!! Lovely taste and very slight hoppiness from the Scarbrough Fair Ale from the Wold Top Brewery round the corner! Top find!!!
