I didn't know what to expect of a whisky from The Isle of Harris ( are there any others ? )
My first taste was a delight however
Its smooth and slightly fresh and tangy
Maybe that's an impression from the attractive ridged bottle and slightly greenish colour
Whatever..bring on my next glass !
PS One of my old pals always offers a good malt when I visit.
His favourite is Laphroig
I'm going to surprise him next visit by fetching along The Hearach
My favourite whisky is any one of the Longrow Reds that Springbank have released over the years. This Ben Nevis is the nearest in style I've ever tasted. Ever so slightly dryer than the Longrows, and slightly less oily, but a wonderful dram in its own right and a serious pity that there's so few bottles. If you like a red wine influenced, serious, complex whisky with a hint of peat, you can't go wrong with this.
Another great whisky from the Infrequent Flyers series by Alistair Walker. They just keep coming!
Very subtle flavours when taken with a good dash of water. The Sherry colour is beautiful and adds warmth to the dram.
Well packaged delivery on time. Nice gift for a friend who says it’s going down really well
