Cadenhead's Whisky Tasting 2025 - Old & Rare With Whisky-Online Auctions

Our Old & Rare whisky tastings are now back! First introduced in 2021, these themed events are a great opportunity to try a flight of carefully selected drams from yesteryear, and are introduced by independent hosts, so you know you're getting unbiased info. 

Join the Whisky-Online Auctions team and our special guest star Lee 'Connas' Connor on Zoom on Friday 26th September 2025 for a fantastic flight of legendary single malt whiskies bottled by Cadenhead's! This event will include a whopping eight rare whiskies bottled by the maverick indie outfit, with the majority coming from the all-time classic 'Distillery Labels' series - a range of magical single casks bottled at cask strength in the 1980s and 1990s with labels featuring line drawings of the distilleries.

Our tasting lineup for what promises to be a truly astonishing event includes a string of iconic whiskies that are almost impossible to find nowadays, giving the lucky attendees a chance to sample bona fide legends such as the Talisker 1979 Cask 6 bottled at an eyewatering 64.9%, a Linlithgow (St. Magdalene) 1982 Cask 2839 at an even heftier 65.4% and the world famous Clynelish 1972 Cask 5641, a nigh perfect sherry cask bottled at a mighty 59.7%. 

This unrepeatable flight of old glories from the golden age has been selected from Whisky-Online Auctions’ private stock especially for this unique series of virtual whisky tastings. If you'd like to take part and have the opportunity to taste these incredible whiskies, we highly recommend securing your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

What you need to do and what is included

1. 1. Order Your Tasting Pack: If you haven't already, please order your tasting pack online. If you are overseas please allow enough time for your samples to arrive.

   2. Shipping/Collection: Your tasting pack, containing seven 1.5cl samples, will be shipped to you the week commencing 15th September. Alternatively, you are welcome to collect it. You'll receive a separate email closer to the event date with the link for the Zoom tasting.

   3. Join the Tasting: We will send you a Zoom link on the 24th September. On the date of the tasting, click on the Zoom link provided in the follow up email at 7.15pm (to allow time to resolve any technical issues). You'll be admitted to the tasting shortly after.

   4. Enjoy the Experience: Relax, pour yourself a dram, and get ready to listen, learn, and most importantly, taste! We encourage you to ask questions throughout the tasting.
