A magnificent 40-year-old Highland Park 1982 bottled in 2022 by Gordon & MacPhail for their prestige Private Collection range.

This 1982 Highland Park 40-year-old was bottled without colouring or chill filtration from a single refill sherry puncheon that yielded 202 bottles at an impressive 51.5%. Highland Park ages superbly in sherry casks, and this one looks nailed on to be one of the best whiskies released so far in 2023.

Nose: Rich raisin aromas infuse with notes of fragrant apple and cigar box. Smooth toasted almonds give way to the dark cherry and brown sugar undertones.

Palate: Intense festive spices lead to Seville orange peel and soft garden mint. Rich Medjool dates and roasted coffee bean flavours are balanced by cracked black pepper.

Finish: Full and spicy finish with lingering citrus and delicate smoky notes.
