A top class single cask Coleburn 1981 bottled as a 38-year-old without colouring or chill filtration in 2019 by Gordon & MacPhail for their high-quality Private Collection Series.
This 38-year-old Coleburn 1981 matured in refill sherry hogshead cask #476, yielding just 101 bottles at an impressive natural cask strength of 55.9%. Coleburn was one of Diageo's most obscure Speyside workhorses and closed its doors in 1985 without ever having been officially bottled. It seems likely now that any remaining casks at Gordon & MacPhail must represent the very last whisky from this underrated lost distillery.
