White Heather 15-year-old blended whisky is an exciting addition to the revived White Heather range, which is something of a nostalgic passion project from Glenallachie head honcho Billy Walker.

Following the relaunch of White Heather as a superb 21-year-old in 2021, White Heather 15-year-old was released in early 2022 and at half the price of the 21-year-old it looks like an absolute bargain.

White Heather 15-year-old's high malt content includes whisky from Speyside, Highland and Islay distilleries. All the whiskies for White Heather 15-year-old started life in ex-bourbon and sherry casks and were vatted together before a finishing period in a mix of virgin oak and Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled without colouring or chill filtration at 46%, White Heather 15-year-old looks nailed on to be one of the blends of the year.

Colour: Golden Bronze.

Nose: Waves of heather honey and butterscotch. Followed by orange peel, pineapple, mint and a hint of peat.

Palate: Layers of treacle, heather honey and butterscotch, followed by orange peel grapefruit and almonds, with mocha, ginger and a light whisp of smoky peat on the finish.
