An old bottle of J&B Ultima, a prestige edition from one of the UK's best-selling blended Scotch whisky brands. J&B Ultima was a one-off special edition blend produced in 1994 with the specific intent to include whisky from as many distilleries as possible.

At the time of J&B Ultima's creation, just 98 working Scottish distilleries remained. Ultima included aged whisky from all of them, as well as sourcing ingredients from another 30 closed distilleries for a total of 128 different distilleries included in the recipe: the final total included 112 malt whiskies and 16 grains.

J&B Ultima is a remarkable whisky with a superb story, and of course it goes without saying that this whisky would be completely impossible to recreate today without a four-figure pricetag.
