An old bottle of the House of Lords 12-year-old De Luxe blended Scotch whisky. This is a rare late cream label edition of the 12-year-old House of Lords, which was more commonly seen in a dark label, and dates back to the mid to late 1990s.
The House of Lords blended whisky was produced by William Whiteley & Company, and for many years much of the malt whisky component was supplied by their Edradour distillery.
Born in Yorkshire in the 19th century, Whiteley was a notorious crook and mafia associate who made a fortune smuggling whisky to America during Prohibition; the real House of Lords objected so strongly to the name of this whisky, and the various false claims Whiteley made for it, that the brand was only available outside of the UK for almost the entirety of its history.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.
