A special small-batch Yamazaki Limited Edition Japanese single malt whisky released in 2016, the third instalment in the original series of annual Limited Editions that ran from 2014 to 2017 before the name was revived in 2021.

Created by Suntory Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo, Yamazaki Limited Edition 2016 combines younger whisky matured in American oak and ex-bourbon casks with mature Yamazaki aged for over 20 years in European oak sherry and port casks. Bottled at 43%, the combination of long-aged wine-cask whisky with fresher bourbon-cask spirit gives this a rich, fruity character while retaining the elegance and balance for which Yamazaki is renowned.

The original 2014-2017 Yamazaki Limited Editions have become increasingly sought-after as Japanese whisky has grown in popularity, with the 2016 edition now a particularly collectable release from the middle of this short-lived original series.
