A single cask 39-year-old St. Magdalene 1982 bottled in 2021 and released in 2022 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Recollection series, which spotlights classic lost distilleries.
St. Magdalene was sometimes known as Linlithgow and is one of the greatest lost Lowland distilleries. This 1982 St. Magdalene 39-year-old was bottled without colouring or chill filtration from a single refill American hogshead that yielded 165 bottles at its impressive cask strength of 54.8%. There can't be too many more casks of St. Magdalene left, so we should treasure these while we can.
Please note that this St. Magdalene 1982 is not eligible for any discounts.

Nose: Baked apple aromas lead to demerara sugar and faint dried herbs. Grapefruit zest develops accompanied by white chocolate and freshly cut grass.
Palate: Dried pineapple flavours infuse with passion fruit and crystallised violet. Lemon curd comes to the fore alongside subtle icing sugar and a faint herbal edge.
Finish: White pepper and charred oak linger on the finish with citrus fruit.
