A 21-year-old Speyside single malt, distilled on 11th July 2005 and bottled on 21st August 2026 by Signatory Vintage for their prestigious Symington’s Choice range.

The identity of the distillery is not officially stated, with Signatory using the designation Speyside (M) for these releases. The “(M)” bottlings are widely understood to originate from Macallan, although they are presented by Signatory as undisclosed Speyside single malts. The 2005 vintage has become particularly familiar through a number of Signatory releases, many showcasing the spirit after lengthy maturation in first-fill Oloroso sherry wood.

This Speyside (M) single malt was matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask #102, and bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.3% ABV. The cask yielded a total of 668 bottles.

Selected for Symington’s Choice, the range personally chosen by Signatory founder Andrew Symington, this 21-year-old is one of a pair of 2005 Speyside (M) single casks released together, alongside sister cask #104. Both were matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, offering an interesting opportunity to compare two closely related casks from the same vintage and parcel of spirit.
