Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 75cl / 40%
Another of G&M's wealth of pre-war liquid time capsules that reveal a long lost and masterly era of Scottish whisky production.
If you think you know Linkwood then taste this and think again, a maelstrom of wax, fragrant peat smoke, tropical fruits, green tea and rancio.
The majority of aged pre-war bottlings by G&M have invariably been Strathislas, Glen Grants, Macallans or Mortlachs. These occasional Linkwoods are fascinating alternatives to the 'big four'.
As usual, it is smoky, resinous, super fruity and very beautiful but perhaps globally a bit lighter than the usual style from this era. Fascinating and stunning whisky.
