Distilled at Jura in April 2011 and matured for 11 years before being bottled by Douglas Laing in August 2022 for their Provenance range.

This Highland single malt was drawn from a single refill barrel, cask DL16020, yielding just 250 bottles at a natural cask strength of 57.2% ABV. As with other releases in the Provenance series, it was bottled without chill filtration or added colouring.

Douglas Laing's Provenance range focuses on single cask and small batch whiskies selected to showcase the individual character of their respective distilleries. This particular cask was bottled exclusively for SAS Distribution.

Jura's island location gives the distillery an unusually remote setting, with the island home to only a few hundred permanent residents. Despite being geographically close to Islay, Jura is classified as a Highland distillery and its spirit is generally produced in an unpeated style, making independently bottled single casks an interesting opportunity to explore the distillery beyond its regular releases.

Douglas Laing's Tasting Notes: A warming, spiced oak style gives way to vanilla custard and a touch of caramelised fruit. The palate is thick and creamy – detect coconut with a salted chocolate style and barley sugar. The finish lingers with an oceanic quality developing to brown sugar and buttered toast.

Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers. However, only one or two bottles of each product were included in the parcel - so when they’re gone they’re gone! Please note that due to the size and nature of this batch of stock, some labels and boxes may show signs of wear.
