An older 1 litre bottling of Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Special Reserve, dating from the early 2000s and presented in the distillery’s classic black and gold packaging of the period.

Glenfiddich was founded by William Grant in Dufftown in 1887 and remains one of the world’s best-known single malt Scotch whiskies. The 12 Year Old has long been at the heart of the distillery’s range, although earlier versions such as this Special Reserve pre-date the modern packaging and branding.

Bottled at 43% ABV, these older Glenfiddich 12 Year Old releases offer an interesting comparison with the present-day expression, displaying the distillery’s familiar fresh, fruity Speyside character with notes of orchard fruit, malt, gentle oak and soft spice.
