Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers 70cl / 47.5%
An interesting one here: we're used to seeing Dailuaine from sherrywood, and the indies often unearth the odd ex-bourbon cask, but this is the first time we've seen a Dailuaine finished in casks that formerly held Bordeaux's sweet dessert wine Sauternes, and we've got a strong suspicion that it should be excellent stuff.
Morrison Distillers have done the honours, with this small batch Dailuaine 2012 bottled in 2021 for their Carn Mor Strictly Limited series as a 9-year-old after the afore-mentioned Sauternes finish, with just over 800 bottles produced at their preferred strength of 47.5%.
