Description

Lowland Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Bottled By: Duncan Taylor 70cl / 52.4%

Distilled at Cameronbridge in February 1979 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in April 2007, this 28-year-old single grain Scotch whisky forms part of the highly regarded Rare Auld range. Drawn from single cask #3582 and bottled at its natural cask strength of 52.4% ABV, the whisky was released without chill filtration or added colouring, allowing the character developed over nearly three decades of maturation to shine through.

One of just 171 bottles produced from the cask, this release showcases the remarkable complexity that long-aged single grain whisky can achieve. Extended maturation in oak has transformed the spirit. Expect a refined balance of creamy vanilla, toasted coconut, butterscotch and honeyed cereal notes, complemented by gentle oak spice, polished wood and hints of tropical fruit.

During the early 2000s, Duncan Taylor's Rare Auld series earned an outstanding reputation for bottling exceptional single casks from distilleries rarely seen as official releases. Mature Cameronbridge bottlings of this age remain relatively scarce, making this an appealing bottle for those seeking an elegant example of well-aged Scotch grain whisky.
