Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 50cl / 45.5%

A fascinating 30-year-old Bruichladdich I was there Valinch bottling, released to commemorate the first distillation following the distillery's historic reopening on 29th May 2001 under the stewardship of Mark Reynier and his team. The Valinch series was originally available only to visitors at the distillery, with each bottle drawn from a single cask and filled, labelled and signed at the time of purchase.

Distilled in December 1970 and bottled 30 years later on the day of Bruichladdich's reopening, this whisky was drawn from Bourbon Cask #5081 at a strength of 45.5%. The label is personally signed by legendary distillery manager Jim McEwan, whose arrival helped usher in a remarkable new era for the Islay distillery.

The reopening of Bruichladdich in 2001 remains one of the most significant events in modern Scotch whisky history. After years of closure, the distillery was revived by a passionate new ownership group determined to restore Bruichladdich's reputation and individuality. These inaugural Valinch bottlings, produced to mark the occasion, have become highly sought after, representing the beginning of the distillery's celebrated renaissance.
