Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 46%
Distilled at Balmenach in October 2013 and matured for 8 years before being bottled by Douglas Laing in March 2022 for their Provenance range.
This Speyside single malt was drawn from a single ex-bourbon barrel, cask DL15654, yielding just 350 bottles at 46% ABV. As with other Provenance releases, it was bottled without chill filtration or added colouring.
Douglas Laing's Provenance range showcases single cask and small batch whiskies from distilleries across Scotland, bottled with a focus on the individual character of the spirit and cask.
Douglas Laing's tasting notes describe freshly carved wood developing to creamy porridge and green apple peel on the nose, followed by thick and buttery cereal notes alongside candied nuts and crème brûlée on the palate. The finish lingers long with a spicy style plus vanilla cream, baking spice and pineapple juice.
Balmenach is one of Speyside's more traditional distilleries and has retained the use of worm tub condensers, where copper coils submerged in cold water condense the spirit. This relatively old-fashioned method provides less copper contact than modern shell-and-tube condensers and contributes to the distillery's characteristically weighty style of new make spirit.
Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers. However, only one or two bottles of each product were included in the parcel - so when they’re gone they’re gone! Please note that due to the size and nature of this batch of stock, some labels and boxes may show signs of wear.

I drink many islands whiskies and somehow I keep coming back to my Scapa 25 for the uniqueness and coastal experience that I do not have with my others. If you’ve never tried a Scapa, this is the bottle to try.
