Ardbeg Arrrrrrrdbeg! was a very special bottling from the distillery released only to members of the Ardbeg Committee in late 2020 to commemorate the retirement of the legendary Mickey Heads, who had been Ardbeg's distillery manager since taking over from Stuart Thomson in 2007.
In true Ardbeg style, Mickey's retirement was treated in the most admirably upbeat way, with the great man himself depicted on the label as a pirate captain. Ardbeg Arrrrrrrdbeg itself is a limited edition matured entirely in ex-rye whisky casks that have added a lipsmacking spicy aniseed layer to the flavours, and was bottled at a punchy but approachable 51.8%.

I really shouldn't share how good this whisky is as I don't want it to sell out. One of the few non sherried releases in this series and therefore quite different from most I have tried before. Absolutely delicious whisky.
