This was the oldest release by Whistle Pig back when it graced our palates in 2016, it is still as good as it was back then.
This rye has been aged in Vermont Oak casks harvested right from the WhistlePig Farm.
The main difference between Vermont Oak and standard American oak is the tightness of the wood rings and this helps impart more flavour and depth to the rye.

Official Tasting Notes Nose: Deep and rich, dominated by caramel, vanilla, and oak with hints of allspice and burnt orange. Palate: Warm, rich, and slightly creamy. Loads of butterscotch and baking spice with leather and a hint of tobacco. Finish: Ultra long and rich, warm, and inviting.
