A bottle of Høst Danish whisky from the Stauning distillery, which was Denmark's first new operational single malt whisky distillery when it opened its doors in 2006. Stauning Høst is an unusual whisky, being a 'double malt' - Høst is made with both malted barley and malted rye in the mashbill.
After a major expansion in 2018 thanks to a £10m investment from Diageo's Distil Ventures, Stauning were able to open a new distillery with 24 direct fired pot stills, boosting Stauning's capacity to nearly 1m litres a year, a huge jump from the previous capacity of around 10,000 litres per annum.
