Description

Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Hunter Laing 70cl / 50%

A 1991 single cask Glen Grant bottled by Hunter Laing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Old Malt Cask series. Bottled in August 2018 as a 27 year old with a yield of 168 bottles from a sherry butt.

Glen Grant was founded in 1840 by the Grant brothers who were previously illegal distillers who decided to obtain a licence and make this venture "legal". The brothers set about improving transport networks to boost distribution and continued to expand the distillery.

In 1872 John "Major" Grant took over the running of the distillery and soon built a second distillery over the road in 1898 but this closed 4 years later - This distillery is now known as Caperdonich after reopening in 1965, but again closing in 2002.

In 1952 the Major's Grandson took over the running of the distillery and merged with George & J G Smith forming The Glenlivet and Glen Grant Distillers. A few more ownership changes over the years happened and in 2006 Gruppo Campari bought the distillery.
