A 6-year-old Austrian single malt whisky from the Broger distillery in Klaus, near the Swiss-Austrian border, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company for the inaugural release of their Norwest-Euro Express series celebrating European whisky.
Like the HighGlen distillery in Switzerland, Broger distillery is located in the home of its owners the Broger family, who carry out all the distillery operations on site in their free time. This heavily-peated 6-year-old Broger Austrian single malt whisky was matured in a single french Limousin oak cask that yielded 374 half litre bottles at a whopping cask strength of 62.3%.

Nose: Big! Farmyard funk and peaty tar. Hints of dark pipe tobacco, Black rubber, and liquorice, Underneath though, caramel, BBQ sauce, and sandalwood.
Palate: Oily and chewy. Woodsmoke and chimney soot, hard rubber, liquorice root, and an underlying sweet citrus note.
