Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 43%
A small batch St. Magdalene 1975 Lowland single malt whisky released by indie bottlers Gordon & Macphail as part of their Rare Old series in 2010.
Assembled from a small batch of refill sherry hogshead casks, this was one of the last of around a dozen Gordon & MacPhail bottlings of 1975 St. Magdalene released between 2003-2010, and everything we've tried has been superb. St. Magdalene (sometimes known as Linlithgow) made a spirit that was deeply complex, often displaying a more Highlandesque minerality than Lowland grassiness.

It’s mature, balanced, and lively for 14 years. You can smell the vanilla and oak. And when drank there's a soft spice taste.
perfect neat or with a splash of water. Shame not many bottles made
