A small batch Springbank 2007 9-year-old Campbeltown single malt whisky released by the distillery at full cask strength in 2017. This bottling was an exclusive for members of the Springbank Society.
Bottled without colouring or chill filtration, this 9-year-old Springbank 2007 came from a small batch of fresh hogshead casks that had previously contained the Bordelais sweet wine Sauternes - so expect exotic fruit sweetness alongside the characteristic Springbank funk - and was a small batch of 1128 bottles at a hefty natural cask strength of 57.1%.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
