Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 54.3%
A Springbank 1999 16-year-old Campbeltown single malt whisky bottled by the distillery without colouring or chill filtration at cask strength for the 2016 revival of Springbank's Local Barley series. Following a handful of earlier Springbank Society and staff-only bottlings, this was the first full general release Local Barley Springbank since 2001 at the time of release.
This 16-year-old Springbank 1999 Local Barley was distilled from Prisma barley grown on Machrimore farm in the Kintyre peninsula, and was an edition of 9000 bottles from a mix of 80% bourbon and 20% sherry casks filled in September 1999 and bottled in January 2016 at a natural cask strength of 54.3%.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
