Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Campbell Hope & King 26 2/3 Fl Ozs / 80 Proof
A marvellous old bottle of Macallan 1962 80 Proof Speyside single malt whisky. This version of Macallan 1962 carries both imperial and metric measures and was therefore very likely to have been bottled in the very late 1970s or very early 1980s. These higher-strength Macallans bottled in the 1970s are hugely sought after nowadays.
This vintage 1962 Macallan was bottled at 80 proof (around 45.7%) under license by Campbell, Hope & King, who were one of a handful of favoured distributors allowed to bottle and release semi-official bottlings of Macallan. Other firms to do this include Gordon & MacPhail, Hall & Bramley and Matthew Clark, before Macallan took their own official bottlings in-house in the early 1980s.
