This 23-year-old Glendronach 1990 came from Cask 1240, a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon that yielded a generous 647 bottles at its ideal natural cask strength of 50.8%. These early 1990s casks are typically old style, massively earthy and rich with deep tertiary aromas of old tobacco, coal smoke, wood spice, dark fruits and many stunning complexities that only the combination of brilliant spirit in great wood with real maturity can bring.
