The Glendronach 14 Year Old Virgin Oak Finish Highland single malt whisky, initially launched in 2010, was a fascinating departure from the norm. This expression was part of the distillery's experimental wood finishing series introduced by former owner Billy Walker as part of his remarkable renaissance of the distillery, and several batches were bottled between 2010-2016.
What makes this bottling interesting and special? It's almost theantithesisof what Glendronach is typically known for. While they are famed for their prominent sherry cask program, this expression showcases the spirit in its more raw and unadulterated form thanks to the virgin oak finish.
It's a unique opportunity to experience the Glendronach spirit stripped down, allowing you to appreciate the underlying flavours that might be otherwise masked by the influence of sherry casks. This edition of Glendronach 14-year-old Virgin Oak Finish is from 2016, the last year it was produced.
