This 2007 Craigellachie 13-year-old was finished in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon Cask 1826, giving the whisky a fabulous dark chestnut colour and yielding 654 bottles at an impressive 58.3%. A top class sherry cask from a truly underrated distillery.

Colour:Mahogany.
Nose:Toasted oak, treacle toffee and caramelised Demerara sugar.
Palate: Rich and densely flavoured. Liqueur-esque. Brandy snaps, dark chocolate and Morello cherries. Intense raisin and sultana. Quite a peppery note at the back.
