Ron Mulata Gran Reserva is a dark golden Cuban rum from Cuban co-operative Technoazucar. The Mulata rum brand was created in the early 1990s in collaboration with the Italian grappa distillers Franciacorta and is now among Cuba's most popular brands domestically.
Ron Mulata Gran Reserva 15-year-old is Mulata's flagship expression, aged in 180-litre American oak barrels (most likely ex-bourbon casks), and has the gentle palate we associate with long-aged rum and the delicious Cuban rum sweet spiciness. An elegant, medium-full rum that will make a great cocktail, Mulata Gran Reserva is a great rum for whisky drinkers.
