Description

Guyana Rum 26 2/3 Fl Ozs

An old bottle of Four Bells Old Navy Rum, bottled by the London firm Challis, Stern & Co. at some point after 1966, when Guyana won her independence. This bottle is very similar to the pre-1966 'British Guiana' labels, so is probably late 1960s.

Four Bells was a dark Guyanese rum that at one point in the 1970s was the de facto 'house' rum for the British Merchant Navy, though the brand now seems to be defunct, sadly. A rich, flavoursome demerara rum packed with chocolate, prune, molasses and tobacco notes.
