Martell VSOP Medaillon is a premium, aged cognac from one of the oldest and most prestigious houses in France, established in 1715.
Older bottlings such as this 1990s release are known for their smooth, complex flavour profile, featuring notes of hazelnut and dried fruits like plum and quince. These characteristics are achieved by blending eaux-de-vie from four main Cognac regions and aging them in fine-grained oak barrels.
Please note that this particular bottle does not have its original label. Instead, it features an engraved personal message for the Martell Big Spenders Club, specifically for their 1991 national golf tournament final.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
