Petite Champagne Cognac Bottled by: Cadenhead's 70cl / 62.4%
A remarkable single cask Charpentier 50-year-old Petite Champagne cognac released by independent bottlers Cadenhead's at full cask strength in 2019.
Bottled from a single cask without colouring or chill filtration, this 50-year-old Charpentier would have been distilled in the late 1960s and was bottled at its scarcely-credible natural cask strength of 62.4%, yielding 270 bottles. This extraordinary long-aged cask strength Petite Chmapgne cognac from Charpentier picked up a whopping 90 points in a lineup of 'Malternative' cognacs from Whiskyfun's Serge Valentin.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
