A small batch Octomore Masterclass Edition 08.2 8-year-old Islay single malt whisky released by the distillery in 2017.
Octomore Masterclass Edition 08.2 was a batch of 36000 bottles of whisky that had been peated to a mind-boggling 167ppm and matured in a melange of different woods including casks that had previously been home to the spicy red Rhone wine Mourvedre, Sauternes, 'sweet wine' and Amarone, and was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at its mighty natural cask strength of 58.4%. Octomore Masterclass Edition 08.2 was originally launched in travel retail in 2017, and must have been a success as further editions appeared in 2018 and 2019.
