Have to say from the off, it’s a wee bobby dazzler. Beautiful sweet notes of sherry, stewed pears and a slight hint of smoke. On the palate it’s like a nice clootie pudding, plenty of warmth, raisins and black treacle. And then at the end just a nice gentle hint of that smokiness you’d expect from an Orkney. Definitely needs just a wee splash of H2O due to the proof, but it opens it up beautifully. There’s a nice lingering finish which just leaves you wanting more. Absolute belter at this price. Another great example from Signatory Vintage.
Don’t buy if air freight is required.
The bottle leaked through the cork/seal in transit via air freight and Whisky-Online advised they take no responsibility so buyer beware.
Exceptional whisky for the price, cask strength, typical style, superb
Miltonduff 2011-2025 | 14 Year Old Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition 54
on the nose a wee hint of Tormore and then and then Sherry, notes of stewed plum, a wee hint of spice and some oak.
On the palate the sherry is very mighty, doesn't leave much space for other notes. A mouthfull of pleasure with a short to medium finish. That is with the first sip, the more you have, you get a layer in your mouth, smooth but lasting.
A Smashin' dram at an nice price in Cask Strength, a bit to heavy on the Sherry side. Perfect to sit down at sundown and just simply enjoy... :-)
