Glenrothes Whisky Maker’s Cut was created as part of the distillery’s Soleo Collection, introduced in 2018 when Glenrothes replaced its long-standing range of vintage-dated bottlings with a new range focused on age statements and cask selection.

Whisky Maker’s Cut sat towards the top of the Soleo Collection and was matured exclusively in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks. Bottled at 48.8% ABV, at natural colour, the strength was specifically selected by the Glenrothes Master Whisky Maker.

The higher bottling strength and exclusive use of first-fill sherry casks distinguished Whisky Maker’s Cut from the other releases in the Soleo range. Now discontinued, it represents a relatively short-lived chapter in the modern history of Glenrothes.
