Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 75cl / 40%
A lovely old bottling of Blair Athol 8 Year Old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, released during the 1980s by Arthur Bell & Sons at 40% ABV. This edition carries the prominent “From the House of Bell’s” branding, reflecting Blair Athol’s longstanding importance to the famous Bell’s blend.
Blair Athol is one of Scotland’s older distilleries, established in Pitlochry in 1798 and acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons during the 1930s. As Bell’s grew to become one of Britain’s leading blended Scotch brands, Blair Athol became an important component of the blend, with relatively little whisky released as an official single malt. Bell’s introduced these 8-year-old distillery bottlings during the early days of the modern single malt market.
An attractive example of an early official Blair Athol, presented in the characteristic black, blue and gold livery of the period and offering a glimpse of the distillery’s character before the later Flora & Fauna bottlings became its best-known official single malt releases.

A great IB of Craigellachie which is excellent Value for Money! Whilst OB’s of Craigellachie never disappoint this IB does offer up something exceptional at the price… a worthy purchase!
Great service from the vendor too…
Aroma has subtle hints of sherry, vanilla and smoke. This is a dark, smooth and oily whisky - I noticed flavours of dark chocolate, tar, peat and salt. The real character comes through in the aftertaste - lingering peat and salt. Unmistakably Islay, and superb!
