A nice old bottle of Glenfiddich Special Reserve, and the presentation suggests that this was most likely bottled somewhere around the turn of the century after this particular expression had replaced the now-verboten Pure Malt term with Single Malt on the label.
Glenfiddich has always been a standard bearer for the lighter style of Speyside and if anything these classic Glenfiddich Special Reserve bottlings are even lighter than the Glenfiddich of today, although of course that doesn't mean that they lacked character - on the contrary, the almost naked distillate in these bottlings is bursting with gentle floral, grassy flavours, often with a pronounced minerally edge.

For me this is by far the best from the Signatory 100 series, Royal Brackla is one of those go to and I know it's fabulous distilleries, never been disappointed, try it, actually don't, more stock for me 😉
